Attendees : Summer Connor (President), Joe Jackson (Secretary), Kelly Batten, Robin Parson, David LeFever, Martha Wolfe, Jason Spangler, Jon Folsom, Norma Dennis, Teena Scott, Donna Caldwell, George C. Scott, Janice Coble, Eleanor Ratterman, Marla Kurzec, Vickie Cribb, Ron Knight, Terry Matthews, Kim McKone, Denise Woods, Kristin Dotson, Mark Whitesell, Bradley Langston, and Lawrence Straughn.

  • Lunch was served at 12:00 p.m.
  • The meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m.
  • Summer began by welcoming the newcomers and members.
  • Each person introduced themself and shared the name of their business.
  • The Town of Jamestown (Martha Wolfe) served as the March lunch sponsor.

  • Lunch was served at 12:00 p.m.
  • The meeting was called to order at 12:20 p.m. 
  • Summer began by welcoming the newcomers and members.  Each person introduced themselves and shared the name of their business.
  • Allstate Insurance (Summer Connor) served at the February lunch sponsor.

Overview of The Town of Jamestown 

  • Town Manager Kathryn (Cookie) Billings gave an overview of the many events taking place.
  • Cookie thanked JBA for its participation in the 5K Fun Run/Walk (sponsored by the Town of Jamestown, JBA, and the Ragsdale YMCA).
  • The Sign Ordinance is on track for review. 
  • The Town Council adopted the Land Development Plan – December 2007. 
  • A Downtown Development Initiative was presented to the group. Greenberg Development Services is the Planning and Economic Development Company that is being considered. This project is something that would benefit the businesses of Jamestown along Main Street. Cookie requested to have the Town & JBA partner to proceed with this initiative. The cost is $3,500. The Town Council will review this plan – March 2008.
